1. How long does it take to hire a nanny or caregiver?

It can take anywhere from a few days to a several months. It depends on finding a suitable nanny. It is very important to take the time and ensure the candidate you choose is the right fit for your family.

 

2. What if I need a caregiver right away?

If you need a caregiver right away, we do offer same day service with our on-call services. Nannies and Caregivers can usually be there within a three hour turnaround time. Our on-call services have a 4 hour minimum.

 

3. How much does it cost?

Our fees vary with each service and may be tailored to your needs. Whether you need a full time nanny or a one day service, we can meet your needs. Please call for pricing. Our payroll service is $39.99/month, but with all placement packages, the first month is included for free.

 

4. Where do your nannies or caregivers come from?

Most of our nannies come from the Philippines, however we do have nannies from within Canada, Europe and the Caribbean. If you have a specific language requirement please let us know and we will do our best to meet your request.

 

5. How many caregivers can we interview?

You can interview as many caregivers as you like. For a long term placement, we will identify your needs and select 3 candidates for you to meet, but we will continue sending more applicants until you find the right candidate. Often one or more of the first 3 candidates is a good match.

 

6. How are the caregivers screened?

The caregivers are given an in depth in person interview. During the interview process we require identification and status in Canada verification. We inquire about their work experience, education and certifications and have an opportunity to check their English and comprehension skills. After the interview process we check their work references. At that point, we decide if we will represent them.

 

7. What are the caregivers’ qualifications?

Minimum of two years relevant experience in their choice of work

At least one Canadian reference

Education equivalent to Canadian high school

Additional certificates and references an asset

 

8. What if I hire a caregiver and it doesn’t work out?

Loving Care Family Services does offer a sixty day guarantee. Should the candidate you choose not work out for any reason we will send a replacement an no additional cost. The guarantee is dependent on the job description remaining the same as was hired and that all labour and immigration laws are met.

 

9. Are the nannies CPR/First Aid certified?

This varies depending on the candidate. Should this be one of your requirements, you can ask the nanny to get this certification prior to starting work.

I need temporary help while my nanny takes her vacation, when should I start looking?

If you require temporary help while your nanny or caregiver is on a leave, please try and contact us four weeks prior to their departure. Should the need arise suddenly, we are here to help and will do our best to do so as promptly as possible.
